Callisto, a ruthless female warrior, leads her band of cutthroats on a bloody rampage, gleefully telling her victims that her name is Xena. When the real warrior princess sets off to stop the name-stealing, murderous imposter, she discovers that Callisto holds Xena responsible for the destruction of Cirrha, Callisto's hometown. The vengeful warrior sets off to murder the Oracle at Delphi and blame it on Xena. Joxer, a wanna-be warrior, promises to bring Gabrielle to Callisto, but along the way his true nature is revealed and he ends up as Callisto's prisoner along with Gabrielle. In order to free Gabrielle, Xena must fight Callisto in a fierce battle. Once Gabrielle is rescued, Xena captures and emprisons Callisto, rather than grant her what she wishes: her own death.
